What You’ll Need
- Corrugated Sheet
- Tissue Paper
- Scissors
- Pencil
- Blade
- Hot Glue Gun
How to Make a DIY Valentine’s Day Wreath
Sketch and Cut Out the Heart
Begin by sketching out a heart shape on the corrugated sheet. (We used a 14″ x 14″ size corrugated sheet, with the frame being 2 1/2″ thick.) Precision matters, so take your time!
Then, carefully cut out the heart shape using a sharp blade. This corrugated sheet will provide a sturdy and rustic base for your wreath.
Mark Your Wreath Base
Mark dots on the heart where you want your tissue paper circles to be placed. These will be the spots for the delightful pops of color.
With a sharp object, like a blade, punch a hole in each marked dot.
Create and Attach Your Tissue Paper Puffs
Trace out circles on your chosen tissue papers. The size of the circles will determine the fluffiness of your wreath. (Our circles were 6” in diameter, and we made roughly 135!)
To create the tissue paper puffs, fold each circle in half and twist at the center of the fold. This will form a twisted, fluffy circle.
Apply hot glue to the holes in your cardboard heart and carefully insert the twisted end of a tissue paper circle into each hole. You can arrange your tissue paper circles according to your personal preference!
Finishing Touches
Gently fluff out the tissue paper circles where needed, ensuring an even and full appearance.
Lastly, admire your creation! Hang your handmade wreath in your office, home, or business, and let the love-filled compliments roll in.
