What You’ll Need
- One 8oz regular mouth mason jar
- One 32oz wide mouth mason jar
- Wired ribbon (2 1/2”)
- Glue gun
- Scissors
- Ruler
- Sharpie Marker
- Scotch tape
- Flowers
- Water
- Small American Flags (optional)
How to DIY Fourth of July Centerpieces
Cut the Ribbon
Measure and cut three pieces of wired ribbon, each 11 inches in length.
Create the Ribbon Rectangle
Using a hot glue gun, glue the edges of the ribbon pieces together to form one solid rectangular piece. Fold over one side of the raw edge by 1/4 of an inch and secure it with the glue gun.
Mark and Fold
With a ruler and Sharpie, mark along the top of the rectangular piece at 5 ½ inches. Draw a line connecting the marks.
Fold the ribbon along the line and secure with the glue gun. Fold over again and adhere the folded edge on top of the other raw edge to create a tube.
Insert the Ribbon Tube
Place the ribbon tube inside the 32oz mason jar. Use your hands and fingers to smooth the tube along the inner wall of the jar.
Set Up Your Jars
Insert the 8oz mason jar inside the 32oz mason jar. Carefully fill the 8oz mason jar with water.
Use scotch tape to make a three-by-three grid pattern, like a tic-tac-toe board, on top of the mouth of the 32oz mason jar. This will help give your bouquet a more symmetrical composition.
Add the Flowers
Cut the stems of your flowers to your preferred length and carefully insert them through the grid openings. For extra flair, add small American flags among the flowers.
