Based in sunny California, this AAPI woman-owned small business is the brainchild of college student Chrysanne “Ysa” Medina and her close-knit family of three. Overflowing with passion and creative energy for her favorite things – and knowing that she was not alone in her enthusiasm for these interests – Ysa embarked on a mission to create a community through her specially designed jewelry.
Now, her entrepreneurial spirit has allowed Le Petit Sprout to become a business that crafts pieces that resonate with others.

A Little About Ysa Medina
Tell us a little bit about yourself and your business!
My name is Chrysanne Medina & I like to go by my nickname Ysa! I’m the Founder/Co-Owner of Le Petite Sprout & CEO of Luna and Sprout Studios LLC! I am also a current student at UC Berkeley studying Industrial Engineering & Operations Research.
Ever since I was little, I knew I wanted to create products that made people happy, from duct tape wallets to clay magnets. I created LPS in May 2021 because I wanted to create high-quality, unique, special, & meaningful jewelry for people to keep close every day.
My goal is for people to feel beautiful and comforted when wearing their pieces. Designing is one of my favorite things in the world & I’m so grateful for my LPS community!
Do you have any favorite creations that you want to share with us?
Yes! Although I absolutely loved designing all LPS jewelry, I have my top three favorites in the shop because I especially loved creating them. They have become LPS’ bestsellers as well!
1. Our Book Lovers Necklace that you can open. Just like an actual book, it has pages! On the cover, it says, “For all those who found themselves in books.” I created the piece with this special message I relate to & we are so thrilled that many people resonate with this jewelry too.
2. Our Dione Double-Sided Necklace. It has a pearlescent shell moon on one side and Saturn on the other. It’s simplistic and unique, and we love how many of our customers buy one for themselves and another to match with their loved ones!
3) Our Cherry Stamp Necklace that resembles a postage stamp with a cherry! What makes this one special are the two red crystals on the cherries that add a pop of red to people’s outfits.
Le Petite Sprout & Paper Mart
As you know, we’re celebrating 100+ years as a family-owned business, and we couldn’t have done it without your support throughout the years. What are your thoughts on the importance of shopping family-owned and local?
We find it very important to shop with family-owned companies, especially since Le Petite Sprout is a family-owned business as well. When people shop family-owned and local, they support businesses that were created on the strong foundation of true passion for the products or services they create. These businesses are full of love, resilience, and teamwork.
We believe family-owned local businesses are essential in creating a sense of community. They go above and beyond in caring and valuing customers, building stronger relationships with them through the years. We also feel that family-owned businesses share common values and goals, and that is to not only provide authentic, long-lasting, and trustworthy products, but connections as well.
How did you hear about Paper Mart, how long have you been a customer with us, and what keeps you coming back?
My family and I enrolled in a business program before we started Le Petite Sprout, and Paper Mart was mentioned in the supplier segment. Many students from that program would mention their positive experiences with Paper Mart. Little did we know that we were located only a few minutes away from one of the best companies, that would help us deliver the best products and services to our customers.
Le Petite Sprout can’t recommend Paper Mart enough. We have been loyal customers since we opened our previous shop in 2020! There are a ton of things to love about Paper Mart & reasons why we will always come back:
- The staff are amazing. We always feel valued as customers & they help us work through the procurement process with ease. The customer service is the best.
- The products are incredibly well-made. The quality is truly unmatched & has been frequently complimented by our own customers as well.
- The same-day and rush pick up is great, especially when we miscalculate the inventory sometimes hehe.
- The reward points give excellent benefits – a member can even choose to use their reward points to give back!
- They have a heart. They do charitable giving.
- The bulk discounts and low pricing are incomparable.
- They do customization. We are now upgrading our jewelry box with a customized logo decal.
What are your favorite Paper Mart products and why do you love them?
This is a hard question as we love every product we order from Paper Mart.
However, two of our ultimate favorites are the jewelry boxes and the elastic gold & silver ribbons. The box and ribbons provide an experience to customers as they feel like they are opening a gift when unboxing their jewelry & they love it!
Paper Mart offers a wide range of selections and high-quality products. Our LPS customers love the packaging, and they always mention it in their reviews too!
