Wedding Chair Decorations with Ribbon
Wedding chair decorations are not the first things that come to mind when you think about wedding décor. When you eventually do start thinking about it, there are so many options. One of the most popular options today is using ribbon. Ribbon has always been a huge part of wedding decorations. Below, we’ve put together different ways you can use ribbon to decorate your chairs.
Satin Ribbon
Here is a beautiful and easy way to decorate the chairs at your wedding using satin ribbon. Choose satin ribbons that match your wedding color theme and cut them to the height of the chair. Then attach the satin ribbon on the top bar of the chair using double sided tape. It’s so easy, and hardly costs anything.
Printed Ribbons
Choose a selection of colorful printed ribbons, preferably ones that match your wedding theme and tie them to the top bar of the chair. Gather all the printed ribbons half-way down the chair and tie a knot with all of them together. Place a large pom pom bow or flower on top of the knot.
Colored Ribbons
Use complementing colored ribbons and tie them to the top part of the chair. The colored ribbon should measure the length of the chair. Once you have knotted the colored ribbons, make sure they are evenly spread apart on the chair.
Organza Ribbon
Tie a double bow onto the back of the chair using organza ribbon that’s wired. Embellish the decoration with a rose, stars, artificial leaves or floral supplies. This is a simple, yet elegant chair decoration for any wedding.
Two Colored Satin Ribbons
For this wedding chair decoration, you will need two different colored satin ribbons and a string of large clear beads. Tie the satin ribbons from one end of the chair to the other end to make a “U” shape. Do the same with the beaded string. This is quite simply one of the easiest and least time consuming decorations to do.
Satin Ribbons Bow
Use a large width satin ribbons bow and wrap the middle of it around the top of the chair. Gather the two ends of the ribbon on the back of the chair and tie a large satin ribbons bow. You can tie a double bow for a fancier look.
Sheer Ribbon
Get a wide sheer ribbon and tie it vertically across the chair. Pinch the sheer ribbon in the middle and tie a string around it. Then create a rosette ribbon with thin extending tails. Tape the rosette ribbon onto the center where the sheer ribbon is pinched. Take the tails of the rosette ribbon, run them down the center, and tie them to the chair.
Polka Dot Ribbon
Polka dot ribbon is unique and can be used creatively to decorate wedding chairs. Using large-width polka dot ribbons, make a knot at the top bar of the chair. Then tie a large bow with the ribbon. The tail ends of the ribbon should hang down a few inches from touching the ground.
Groom & Bride’s Chairs
This is great for decorating the groom and bride’s chairs. Print “Groom” and “Bride” on two square pieces of cardstock. Paste it on a larger piece of cardstock that matches your wedding theme colors. Use an X-Acto knife and cut two slits on the top and bottom of the card. Run a silk ribbon through the slits and wrap it around the top of the chair. Tie a knot at the bottom of the card stock and leave the tails of the ribbon hanging downwards.
Mesh Ribbon
This particular decoration requires mesh ribbon, matching colored flowers, and artificial feathers. The pictured decoration is perfect for autumn weddings. Tie a large bow with the mesh ribbon on one side of the chair. The tails of the mesh ribbons should reach down to the floor. Embellish the mesh ribbon with the artificial feathers and flowers to give it a beautiful and pleasing appearance.

Hiow wide is the satin ribbon that is featured in your photo above (cream colored bow decorating the gold’chair?)
Hi, Dorothy! Good question. We estimate the ribbon to be about 4 inches in width. Does that help?
